Grove is appearing on the eve of the publication of his memoir, "Swimming Across." The book details his young life in Hungary -- nearly killed by scarlet fever at age four, forced into hiding during the Nazi occupation, dogged by the stigma of anti-Semitism, and finally escaping Hungary's communist regime at the age of 20.
