Geoff Moore: Managing for Shareholder Value in a Downturn View Online

Speakers:
Geoff Moore, Chairman and Founder, The Chasm Group; Author: Living on the Fault Line, Crossing the Chasm, Inside the Tornado, and The Gorilla Game

Back in the bubble era we all knew what managing for shareholder value meant. It meant make the stock price go up. In general our stock prices did, and we all felt pretty clever. But in a world where our stock prices continue to go down across the board, and show no sign of rebounding any time soon, what can this phrase possibly mean? Come and hear one of the Club's most popular speakers, noted author and business guru Geoff Moore take on this topic.

Geoff Moore is Chairman and Founder of The Chasm Group, a consulting practice that provides business and marketing strategy services to high-tech companies. He is also a venture partner with Mohr, Davidow Ventures. His books are required reading at Harvard, Stanford and other leading business schools.

As a consultant, Moore's specialty is addressing market capitalization strategy issues. A revised edition of Geoff's book, Living on the Fault Line, will be published in the late summer of 2002. In revising the book, his focus has been on stripping away the delusions of the dot.com bubble and presenting how companies can manage for shareholder value in any economy.
