Game publishers have dreamed of Hollywood's riches forever. Now they're generating $9.4 billion in revenues a year, compared to $8.3 billion for movie box office receipts. Overall, movie-related revenues still tower over video games. But the gap is closing. The games industry is expected to grow at double-digit rates in the next five years, and it is already producing hits that rival blockbuster films. Nintendo's Pokemon games have sold 93 million units worldwide. Now who's really the biggest entertainment industry? Video game creators say they're just getting started with the introduction of the new consoles - the Sony PlayStation 2, the Nintendo GameCube, and Microsoft's Xbox. Now the game artists say they have the technology to create high art that can appeal to mainstream audiences. What are the limits of gaming? Will it become the biggest entertainment industry?
